"Attack weak spot for massive damage"

Films: Island Claws (1980)

Alias: None

Type: Mutant

Location: Forest/Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of small buildings.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: At least that growth formula isn't being used on tarantulas this time to end world hunger. In fact, we could see the appeal in having larger seafood platters. Problem is, the crabs don't share the same sentiment.

History: Somewhere on a Floridian coastline, a man is testing out a growth hormone on the local crustaceans in a bid to feed the world. However, all it really did was make the crabs all around the place more aggressive, and some even grew to gigantic sizes to menace the populace.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: A giant crab assaults the heroes before one of them manages to poke its eyes out and kill it in the process. There's no telling how many other giants there are, though.

Powers/Abilities: None

Weakness: The eyes are their only weak spots.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-A supersized armored juggernaut of an arthropod sounds scary on paper, and in a way it still is, but an incredibly stiff and slow prop sets the frights back a bit.

Trivia: -This film was also known as "Giant Claws" and "Night of the Claw".

-The crab with the most powerful claws is the Coconut Crab, or Robber Crab, depending how you like it. To give you an idea, they earned their namesake for their ability to crack open coconuts without even breaking a sweat.
